Oh to be 13 again!

Wednesday, 12 August 2009
My cousin, Hayley, turns 13 next Thursday and that makes me feel old! I can remember holding her when she was 4 days old and her mum and dad still hadn't decided on her name (think they were trying out Leah then which is her middle name!) Anyway, what better image to use than a Miss Anya! I've had these stamps for a while and am ashamed to admit that this is the first time that I have inked her up!

I had a couple of nightmares colouring the image where the colours were desperate to come outside the image, so please don't look too carefully!

Supplies:
Stamps: Miss Anya - The Greeting Farm; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Pink Passion & Tempting Turquoise - Stampin Up! & Chit Chat - Sweet Shoppe Designs;
Tools: Swiss Dots CB Folder; Embellishments: Gems - Papermania
It's quite a bright card, but I thought it was perfect for teens, what do you think? I was inspired to look at Sweet Shoppe Designs by Stacey who has used their papers on a number of her fabulous creations! I purchased a couple but this is the first time that I've been brave enough to use them. I hope Hayley likes it!
I hope you all have a lovely day and thanks again for stopping by and any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

More Christmas Cards

Tuesday, 11 August 2009
I'm sorry it's taken me this long to post the remaining cards that I made during my craft day with Nikola. I kept feeling poorly on and off last week and we also had some work done outside the flat on Friday and Saturday, so didn't really have much time. I'm pleased to say that I'm now feeling better and have put the finishing touches to these cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Robin - Elzybells; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Bazzill Basics & Doodlebug
Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities, Argyle CB Folder
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Senitment - CWC, Silver Border Peel-off - Papermania

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Star - Elzybells; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Papermania & DCWV Christmas Stack;
Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities, Swiss Dots CB Folder;
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Senitment - CWC, Silver Border Peel-off - Papermania

Supplies:
Stamps: Forever Friends - Set of 3 Christmas set; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS: Papermania & CWC;
Tools: Oval Nestabilities, Argyle CB Folder; Embellishments: Sentiment - CWC

I have used my favourite red card from Papermania and Bazzil Basic blues for these cards. I hate to use them for fear of running out and not being able to get them ever again, but they are perfect colours for Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day. Thank you for stopping by and any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

It's not fair!

Tuesday, 4 August 2009
I've not had a day's sick from work in nearly 6 months so why, when I have time off , do I have to get sick now?!? First off it was the return of my asthma Friday evening and now I've got a dodgy stomach! I was up half of the night feeling really sick and just taking lots of deep breaths from the window. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow as I'm feeling pretty miserable at the moment.

Thanks Nikola

My very good friend Nikola and her mum came to my rescue last night. For the first time in two years, my asthma flared up and I ended up at the hospital on a nebuliser. I've not been on any medication for about 2 years now and thought it had gone away but turns out that was not to be.

I'd been suffering some breathlessness for about a week when walking a fair distance or up an incline but last night it didn't subside when I got home and it felt like my heart was racing. Because of the surgery my dad had last year, I was worrying it was more my heart than asthma but luckily the ECG and everything was clear. When you're having trouble with asthma, it can make you feel like your heart is racing when it isn't. After the nebuliser the doctor was happy that my peak flow had increased sufficiently to allow me home. The downside is that I'm now back on medication and having to make sure I take one of my inhalers before walking any distance.

I'm a bit tired today so don't feel up to doing much. Jon and I were hoping to go and watch Reading v Chelsea today (would've been interesting with Jon having to pretend to support Reading) but we've had to give that a miss. Instead I've subscribed to ChelseaTV so we can watch the game and Jon can cheer for Chelsea IF they score!

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Oops!

Friday, 31 July 2009
I know I promised to show the remaining cards I made last Saturday whilst crafting with my best mate, Nikola. They all needed final touches to them before being photographed but, unfortunately, I've been so busy at work this week, I've not had the energy when I get home. Jon and I have got 2 weeks off after today, so I've been desperately trying to get everything in order before I finish, that meant I even took my work laptop home with me last night so I could spend 3 hours formatting spreadsheets correctly!

Hopefully, whilst I'm off, I'll get plenty of time to craft and show more cards, so please keep popping by on the off chance!

Beautiful Blogger Award

Sunday, 26 July 2009
I have been given this lovely award by Natalie. She makes such amazing cards so if you've not been to her blog before, you must stop by and pay her a visit!

I've now got to choose five people to pass this on to and that's not an easy choice! I will choose:

Stacey

Michelle

Claire (Claire Ellis)

Clare (Littlebear)

Liza

Apologies for not putting more cards on today but my sister has been round and the 3 of us have been playing on the Wii most of the afternoon!
