Happy Anniversary

Wednesday, 24 April 2013
Happy Wednesday everyone! I don't know about you, but by Wednesday afternoon, things don't seem so bad, it's Hump Day after all!  For those of you that haven't heard this expression before, it's nothing rude!  Monday and Tuesday are the climb up to the top of the hill, by Wednesday afternoon you've reached the top and Thursday and Friday are downhill towards the weekend.

I do have a card to share with you today.  I made this at the weekend, but didn't want to post until today as it was for one of my best friends on her 3rd wedding anniversary.  My posts feed to my Facebook page so I didn't want her to see it before she opened it!

I've used some different colours for me today and I really liked the outcome.  I might have to use them a bit more often!

The image is Popcorn Bear and I'll admit,it's been coloured up for a while, I've just been waiting for an opportunity to use it.  The papers are from a Papermania wedding set and the embossed panel is using the D'Vine Swirls folder.  Popcorn has been coloured in with copics.

This is one of those cards that I just loved when I'd finished it.

I'm entering the card into the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Crafty Bloggers Network - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave as they are greatly appreciated.  I will try and get by and do some blogging in the next evening or so, but I might be distracted with my next crocheting project!

Cardmaker of the Year 2011

Saturday, 17 September 2011
Hello!! I'm still here!! Since my last post I have been a little busy with some entries for the Cardmaker of the Year competition in Cardmaking & Papercraft.  I left it quite late as I was only able to craft for long periods after a change in my painkillers.  Because of this I only had 5 cards for 3 categories but I guess it's quality over quantity right??

I chose 3 of my favourites categories to enter although I had brought a number of items for other categories and had ideas written down for them.  I guess I can keep them for next year and hope that they will still be an option to choose!  I also have to admit that 1 card was pre-made and 2 other's I'd either copied or amended slightly from cards that I'd made months ago that I had been really proud of.

I'd left it so late that they were posted special delivery on Thursday to ensure that they arrived yesterday which was also the closing date for entries!

The entry I'm going to show you today is for the Trimcraft First Edition category.  I really love these papers.  I used the new Christmas Joy pad along with a cute Fizzy Moon stamp.  I created an easel drawer card as my project with some little thank you cards in the drawer.

The photos aren't great as I had to take them at work! I didn't finish this until 11:30pm on Wednesday evening! I really like this colour combination.  I know you can't tell on photos, but the two punched border edges are contrasting shades of red papermania cardstock.
The paper, although not showing up in the photos, is all glittered and sparkly.
A close up of the image, you can just about see that the Glamour Dust has had an outing again!  I can't have snow or furry trims without the glamming them up a bit!

A side on view of the box card to show it off a bit.

Supplies:
Stamp: Festive Fun - With Love - Fizzy Moon; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
DP & Cardstock: Christmas Joy - Trimcraft; Papermania
Tools: MS Doily Lace Punch & Snowflake Punch, Circle Nesties, Hougie Board
Embellishments: Sentiment Circle - CWC, Rose - Wild Orchid Crafts, Ribbon & Gems - Stash

I would love to know what you think especially as it's been a while since I made or coloured anything.  I'm hoping to have a look at all your blogs this evening and catch up on what I've been missing.

Thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Happy Birthday Mum

Monday, 18 April 2011
I would like to start off by thanking everyone for the lovely comments left on my previous post, especially after such a long absence, they are truly appreciated.

My mojo seems to be returning slowly as I managed to make a card over the weekend for my mum who celebrates her birthday tomorrow.  I needed to do this as unfortunately I was unable to make a Mother's Day and I felt very guilty about this.

My mum, like me, loves teddy bears so for me the perfect stamp was one of my favourite Penny Black stamps, Gentlest Kiss.  I adore this stamp and was very lucky to purchase it half price at Ally Pally last year.  The papers are from a Papermania Henbury Lane set and match perfectly with the cardstock I'd chosen.  I think I over-Glimmer Misted my large rose though as the petals opened up a bit too much, hopefully they still look okay.

 Supplies:
Stamps: Gentlest Kiss - Penny Black; Happy Birthday - Woodware; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black & Copics
DP & CS: Henbury Lane - Papermania & Core'dinations
Tools: Circle & Scallop Nesties, Love Language CB Folder, Martha Stewart Lace Valentine Punch
Embellishments: Wild Orchid Craft Roses, Glimmer Mist, Ribbon

I don't know what everyone else uses for their copic colouring, but my favourite is Ryman's Brilliant White Super Smooth.  It blends really nicely and evenly.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Stamp with Fun - Birthday
Pile it On - Use a Rubber Stamp
By the Cute & Girly - Cute & Girly
Copic Creations - Favourite paper to use for copics - Rymans
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Crafty Catz - Furry Friends
Daring Cardmakers - Spring or Easter
Creative Card Crew - Spring

Thank you again for stopping by and for any comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Spring has Sprung!

Saturday, 19 March 2011
Good morning to you! I hope that you have got a lovely weekend planned and that weather stays kind to you.

It's time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge for you all!  With the moving of the clocks to British Summer Time in just over a week, it means that Spring is just around the corner so our challenge is Spring is Sprung.  We want to see lots of lovely cards relating to Spring so you can bring out all those lovely colours and flowers and use them to your hearts content.

I took the chance to use an old stamp that was probably in the one of the first batches of Penny Black stamps that I purchased and has been quite a while since it was last used.  I've also had these Papermania Rose Garden Papers for about a year and this is the first time I've used them too.

 Supplies:
Stamp: Duckling - Penny Black; Inks: Copics & Memento Tuxedo Black
CS & DP: Core'dinations & Papermania Rose Garden
Tools: Martha Stewart Punch, Swiss Dots CB Folder & Oval & Scallop Nesties
Embellishments: Rose - Wild Orchid Crafts, Sentiment - Craftwork Cards & Gems - Stash

How cute is he? I can't believe he's been left neglected for so long!

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

AiFactory - Things with Wings
Crafty Sentiments - Animals
Southern Girls - Use Flowers
Creative Cottage - Spring has Sprung
Simon Says Stamp - Happy Birthday!
Penny Black @Allsorts - Welcome Spring
Sketch & Stash - Sketch

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Birthday Wishes

Thursday, 27 January 2011
I know, it's a shock! 2 posts in less than 24 hours!  I hope you're having a good morning.  This is a scheduled post for me as I'm currently at work.

I've another card for you and this is for the lovely Jenny who's birthday it is today!  I worked with Jenny during the Just Cute Bears days and feel privileged to have had a chance to get to know her and work with her as she has such an amazing talent.

As Jenny loves Penny Black stamps, I just had to use one of my PB stamps on her card.

 Supplies:
Stamp: Gentlest Kiss - Penny Black; Medium: Copics
CS & DP: Bazzill Basics, Henbury Lane - Papermania
Tools: Circle & Scallop Nesties, MS Daisy Deep Edge Punch
Embellishments: Sentiment - Craftwork Cards, Gems - Stash

A close up of this cutie!

I would like to enter this card into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is January Sales.  I didn't actually get any crafty bargains in the sales due to my stash diet, but this stamp was a bargain at half price at he last show that I went to so I hope this qualifies!

I am also entering this card into the Sketch Saturday Challenge as I followed their sketch for this card.

I hope to spend this evening catching up on all your amazing work, I can't wait!  Such a shame that work gets in the way of all this fun!

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Sunday for Santa's

Sunday, 23 January 2011
Good afternoon, I hope you're all having an enjoyable Sunday.  I'm trying to relax a bit after the exertion of yesterday!  Jo and Phil got off ok but unfortunately she had far more stuff than she realised so, once they'd gone, dad and I had to make another trip back to get more of her belongings and take it back to my folks! This meant that Jon and I didn't get to go out for our meal so this is going to be re-arranged for next Saturday.  My back is aching after it all so it;s definitely a day for putting my feet up!  I know Jo has only been gone for one day, but I'm missing her already!

Anyway, stop waffling Sarah!! The reason I'm here is it's time for another Sunday for Santa's card over on our little Facebook group!  This weeks challenge is Cosy.  I knew straight away the stamp that I was going to use for this card.  It's been sat in my drawer for so long since it was last used that I just had to ink him up!

 Supplies:
Stamps: Cozy Dream - Penny Black; Believe - Lauren Meader Secret Santa
Medium: Copics; CS: Real Red - Stampin Up!
Tools: Snow Dots Embossing Folder, Oval & Scallop Oval Nesties
Embellishments: Ho Ho Ho Ribbon  & Gems- Papermania, Glamour Dust

How could I have left this cutie shut away for so long??  My only disappointment with this card is that I didn't have an ink pad the same colour as the cardstock, so the sentiment has a slightly pinkish tone.  I really must get myself the Real Red pad from Stampin Up! as I use this colour quite a lot on my Christmas and Valentine projects

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz - Forgotten Stamp
Stamp Something - Cute Somethings

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Sunday for Santa's

Sunday, 9 January 2011
This is my 2nd post today, please scroll down to see my 1st.

I know, shock horror!!  Two post's in 1 day, it's almost unheard of from me.

I have another card to show you today and it's for a group called Sunday for Santa's that the wonderful Pops has set up on Facebook.  There's a small group of us that are trying to get ahead with those dreaded Christmas cards and not leave it until the last minute!  I hate to admit it but some of the cards I gave last year were shop bought and I don't want that to happen again this year!

Our 1st Challenge was All That Glitters.  This was a great one for me as I'm still loving my Glamour Dust!  I also got the chance to use my Snowy Penny Black stamp for the first time since I got him in November!

Supplies
Stamps: Snowy - Penny Black, Twas the Night Before Xmas - Stamp Addicts
Medium: Copics; Cardstock: Real Red - Stampin Up!
Tools: Rectangle Nestie, Snow Dots Embossing Folder, Glacial Snowflake MS punch
Embellishments: Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon - Stampin Up!, Gemstone, Glamour Dust

I get all of my Stampin Up goodies from the lovely Jules and they arrive so quickly.

This card is also eligible for The Sweet Stop Challenge as I have used their fabulous sketch this week.  I'm getting good at this after being scared of them for so long!  It will definitely be one that I use again.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

New Beginnings

Good afternoon, how's your Sunday going?  Whilst Sunday's are nice relaxing days, I also feel a bit sad as it means the weekend is almost over.

Yesterday I said that I'd made a couple of cards so today I would like to show you the second card.  Being the start of a new year, there are a number of challenges with a theme of New Beginnings and this gave me the perfect opportunity to use my Bundle of Joy set which I've ashamedly had since April but not used!  The papers are also from an old DCWV pad - Nana's Nursery which I think I've had for nearly 2 years and not used a single piece!

 Supplies:
Stamp: Bundle of joy - Penny Black; Medium: Copics
Cardstock & Paper: Core'dinations & DCWV; Tools: Circle & Scallop Nesties
Embellishments: Ribbon - Papermania Capsule Collection, CWC Sentiment Oval

I wish now that I'd put some Diamond Glaze on the bottle to make it stand out, I might actually do that a bit later on!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Penny Black Saturday - New Beginnings
Ellephantastic Challenges - New Beginnings
Fairy Fun Fridays - New Beginnings
Stampin For The Weekend - New & Blue
Creative Card Crew - New Beginnings
AiFactory - New Beginnings
Cute Card Thursday - Out With The Old (papers)
Dutch Dare - New Beginnings
Simon Says Stamp - New Beginnings
Sketch & Stash - Sketch & Neglected stash is DCWV papers and stamp.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Just Cute Bears #14 - Jane's Sketch

Sunday, 25 April 2010
If Mr Blogger is behaving himself then this post will appear as normal at 9am on Sunday morning! I'm still in Taunton after my friends wedding and really hoping that, after all the problems with flights, they manage to get away on their honeymoon.

Anyway, being a Sunday can only mean 1 thing......Just Cute Bears Challenge Time! Thank you to everyone that took part in last weeks challenge. I apologise if I didn't get round to everyone, it's been a busy week looking after Jon and work.

The lovely Jane has provided us with another fabulous sketch for this week. When I first saw it, I was a little daunted, but having now used it, I love it and will definitely use it again! Thanks Jane!

I've used another of my new Lili of the Valley stamps from Ally Pally. These are now on sale so what are you waiting for?!? This cutie pie has been coloured with copics and cut out with rectangle and scalloped rectangle nestabilities. I've used this lovely pink Core'dinations cardstock and the DP's are both from Pink Petticoat (thanks Dawny!). The finishing touches are a Woodware sentiment and some Papermania gemstones. I was going to use some paper roses but there wasn't the room and didn't want to ruin the card.

I absolutely adore this card, I was so happy with the final result! Here's a close up of this cutie!

I hope you will join us again this week. As always we are sponsored by the lovely Kim at Cuddly Buddly. She provides us with such fab prizes each week.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Just Cute Bears #13 - One for the boys!

Sunday, 18 April 2010
Good morning to you all! I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend and that the weather is being kind to you.

It's Sunday morning so that can only be one thing.....time for another Just Cute Bears Challenge! Before I mention this weeks challenge can I just say a BIG thank you to everyone who took part in last weeks "Flowers" challenge! I think we had our record since we began. Please make sure you check the blog to see if you were our lucky winner!

This week we would like to see you make something for the boys! It doesn't just have to be a card, it can be any creation as long as it contains a cute teddy.

This challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to use one of the new Lili of the Valley stamps that I managed to pick up at Ally Pally last weekend. This is part of the new release due out on 21st April. The base is made up of SU! cardstock (sorry, I can't remember the name) and the DP is from the FF paper pack "Just For Him". I then embossed some Bashful Blue CS with my Distressed Stripes CB folder. The image has been coloured with copics and cut out with square nestabilities and mounted onto the SU! CS which has been cut with the scalloped square nestabilities. I have finished off with a Craftwork Cards oval sentiment and some Papermania brads.
Isn't he just adorable!!
I hope you'll take the time to join us again this week. As always we are sponsored by the fab Cuddly Buddly with another fantastic prize for the lucky winner. Please also check out the blog to see the rest of the amazing DT girlies creations.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Happy Valentine's Dad..!

Saturday, 13 February 2010
Another week, another apology for being a bad blogger! I seem to be lacking in mojo at the moment and that may be because I'm just so tired at the moment and seem to be lacking in energy. I'm really sorry for my lack of creations.

I do have something to show you and it's my Valentine's gift for Jon....

I love this photo of Bozzy (Boris) and I fancied the challenge of altering a photo frame. I used one for the Docrafts Bare Basics Photo Frames and covered it in two coats of acrylic paint. The satin adhesive ribbon around the edge is from Hobbycraft. I was so gutted when the last piece moved as I stuck it down, but I couldn't pull it off as it would've removed the paint underneath. The little hearts around the corners are also from Hobbycraft and I finished off the sentiment using Papermania foam alphabet letters. Doesn't he just look adorable!! He looks good for 19!

I wanted to make an album as well using more photos of Bozzy but I've never completed a project like that before and my mind kept going blank when I sat down in front of it. Maybe once I start to pick up a bit, I'll get some inspiration and get it completed in time for Jon's birthday in May.

Anyway, I'd better go as I've still got to make his Valentine's card! I hope to post that at some point but please make sure you pop back tomorrow to see my latest Just Cute Bears challenge card.

Thank you for stopping by and persevering with me. Your comments and support are greatly appreciated.

SCSC 60 - Christmas Trees

Sunday, 29 November 2009
Well, I was right about the weather being horrible today! Definitely a day for doing some crafting, but not easy to get decent photos so I apologise if this appear a bit dark!

The challenge this week over a SCSC is to have a Christmas Tree somewhere on your card. I, for a change, haven't used a stamp for this card. I decided to use the Lace Tree cuttlebug embossing folder. I was lucky enough to get this last year but am ashamed to admit that this is the first time that I have used it! It creates such a elegant finish for any card.

I have only embellished it with a few gems as I felt that was all it really needed, plus a touch of ribbon on the fold. This was so quick to make which is important when you have lots of Christmas cards to make! I made a a few of these very quickly. I've included a picture of an identical card but this time in green.

These cards are so different from what I'm used to, so I would be really interested to know what you think.
I hope you are all having a lovely day aside from the abysmal weather. Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

It's such a Purrfect Day...!!

Wednesday, 25 November 2009
I wish it was a perfect day! That wind has been howling around most of the night and kept waking me up. Is this crazy weather ever going to end??

I apologise that this is a short post today, but I'm racing against time to get this posted before I leave for work as I forgot to schedule the post last night! I will try and add the details later on this evening but I've got some new toys arrive hopefully so might be having a bit of a play!!

This card was for a fellow cat lover in my team at work. There was never any doubt which set of my PB's was going to come out and play! I seem to use the same layouts for a lot of my cards, but I think it is what I am comfortable with. I apologise if I'm being boring! As I'd already used the Bazzill Dots card, I chose to leave the white panel plain which I am regretting now but hey, it's too late to do anything about it now.

I'm really pleased with how the text went around the oval, sort of framing the image.

I hope the photos are looking okay with this software. If anyone thinks they could be improved slightly, please let me know and I will play some more. I had been tinkering with the saturation, brightness and contrast on some of the earlier posts but was concerned that I had overdone it so I'm now doing very little. I just hope I'm not going too far back the other way!
Anyway, enough jabbering, I'd best go and get some breakfast before it's time to get the hubby up and make our way once more to that place that funds my hobby! I hope everyone has a good day and thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.
xx :0)

Sweet Seventeen

Monday, 23 November 2009
Okay, I know the saying is usually "Sweet Sixteen" but I thought it could apply to this card as it's sweet, like candy!

I was asked to make a 17th birthday card and the only things that really came to mind were my Miss Anya stamps. I don't use these enough, so it was a good excuse to get them out and ink them up! I was really pleased with how the colouring came out. I would show you a close up, but it was too dark and ended up blurred.

I'd forgotten that I'd got these papers. They were from the Clare Curd The Big One pad which I had got at the NEC in March! Just shows you how often I use decorative papers in my card making!
Supplies:
Stamps: Miss Anya - The Greeting Farm; Inks: Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black
CS & Paper : Stampin Up!, Papermania & CWC ; Tools: D'vine Swirls CB Folder, Nestabilities
Sentiment: PC Generated - Peach Fuzz Font

As I've made this for a teenager, I'm also going to enter this into this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is for Teen Terrors!

I'm having difficulty adding my supplies under my photos like I did before. I don't know if this is something to do with being on Vista and the lastest version of IE. I'm having to do the HTML coding from other post and adapt it. If anyone can let me know it would be much appreciated. I hope everyone has a good day and thank you for stopping by, it is greatly appreciated.

Elzybells Challenge 32 - Seeing Stars

Sunday, 22 November 2009
Well, my software arrived early and I've had a bit of a play so I hope the photos look ok. I'd like to put a watermark on my photos but don't really know how, so if someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

I've made this card for this fortnights Elzybells Challenge which is Seeing Stars. My image has a star, the saying mentions stars and I've added a silver star border with some peel-offs so I hope I've covered everything!

This is one of my favourite Elzybells Christmas stamps, it's so sweet! I've sprayed the embossed panel with Silver Spray and Sparkle which is from Crafters Companion. You might be able to see if a bit better on the close-up photo below.
I got the idea for the word circle from the wonderful Sue Nelson! If you've not visited her gallery before, you don't know what your missing! This lady is a genius!
Apologies for no supplies details. I'm posting this quickly before my roast is dished up!

PBSC - Christmas

Sunday, 30 August 2009
I couldn't resist entering this weeks Penny Black Challenge which is to make anything to do with Christmas. It was Penny Black's cute Christmas stamps that first got me into stamping and I have a fair few of them, so no excuse not to enter!

This lil mouse is so sweet and a delight to colour in. I've stuck with traditional colours for this card. I have used some stickles glitter glue on bobble and fur trim of the hat, but I don't think it shows in this photo. The ribbon is actually from a Benedicts chocolate box that was enjoyed last Christmas and I thought it would be perfect for Christmas cards this year! It's true what they say, us crafters never throw anything away!
Supplies:
Stamps: Thinking of You - Penny Black; Inks: Memento TB, Copics & Rangers Inkessential;
CS: Core'dinations & Papermania; Tools: Circle Nesties, Snowflake CB Folder;
Embellishments: Ribbon - Stasj, Oval Sentiment - CWC, Icicle Stickles

It's another Christmas card in the box, which is good, but I do need to step up a gear and start making a few more so I don't end up in a mad panic come November and December!

I hope you like the card and please feel free to leave any comments as they are greatly appreciated. I hope you are all having a good Sunday.

xx :0)

Oh to be 13 again!

Wednesday, 12 August 2009
My cousin, Hayley, turns 13 next Thursday and that makes me feel old! I can remember holding her when she was 4 days old and her mum and dad still hadn't decided on her name (think they were trying out Leah then which is her middle name!) Anyway, what better image to use than a Miss Anya! I've had these stamps for a while and am ashamed to admit that this is the first time that I have inked her up!

I had a couple of nightmares colouring the image where the colours were desperate to come outside the image, so please don't look too carefully!

Supplies:
Stamps: Miss Anya - The Greeting Farm; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Pink Passion & Tempting Turquoise - Stampin Up! & Chit Chat - Sweet Shoppe Designs;
Tools: Swiss Dots CB Folder; Embellishments: Gems - Papermania
It's quite a bright card, but I thought it was perfect for teens, what do you think? I was inspired to look at Sweet Shoppe Designs by Stacey who has used their papers on a number of her fabulous creations! I purchased a couple but this is the first time that I've been brave enough to use them. I hope Hayley likes it!
I hope you all have a lovely day and thanks again for stopping by and any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

More Christmas Cards

Tuesday, 11 August 2009
I'm sorry it's taken me this long to post the remaining cards that I made during my craft day with Nikola. I kept feeling poorly on and off last week and we also had some work done outside the flat on Friday and Saturday, so didn't really have much time. I'm pleased to say that I'm now feeling better and have put the finishing touches to these cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Robin - Elzybells; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Bazzill Basics & Doodlebug
Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities, Argyle CB Folder
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Senitment - CWC, Silver Border Peel-off - Papermania

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Star - Elzybells; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Papermania & DCWV Christmas Stack;
Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities, Swiss Dots CB Folder;
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Senitment - CWC, Silver Border Peel-off - Papermania

Supplies:
Stamps: Forever Friends - Set of 3 Christmas set; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS: Papermania & CWC;
Tools: Oval Nestabilities, Argyle CB Folder; Embellishments: Sentiment - CWC

I have used my favourite red card from Papermania and Bazzil Basic blues for these cards. I hate to use them for fear of running out and not being able to get them ever again, but they are perfect colours for Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day. Thank you for stopping by and any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Cute Mojo Monday

Monday, 20 July 2009
I was dreaming about cards last night and so wished I could've stayed at home to make them but, alas, work called! However, once home I was straight in my craft room and whipped up this cutie! I recently purchased the exclusive Forever Friends stamps from The Glitter Pot and they are just gorgeous so had to ink one up. After my comment yesterday about not starting my Christmas cards, I knew which one I would use first.

This card fits the Cute Card Thursday challenge - Xmas in July and I've used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.
Supplies
Stamps: Santa - Forever Friends, Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
CS & DP: Papermania, SU! Whisper White & Doodlebug,
Tools: Circle & Pinking Nestabilites;
Embellishments: Ho! Ho! Ho! ribbon - Papermania

I left the bow off the card as it hid the ribbon which I thought suited the image and I didn't think it was right on a Christmas card. In hindsight I guess I could've cut out a snowflake to put in it's place. I hope it's still acceptable for the sketch challenged

Hopefully this is the first of many Christmas cards now! I'm off to finish my book now, not many pages left. I'm reading The Kite Runner and would recommend to any of you out there that have not read it. It's a very powerful and emotional read.

I hope you are all enjoying the rest of your evening and thank you for stopping by. Any comments you leave are much appreciated.

Confessions of a Shopaholic!

Sunday, 19 July 2009
Afternoon all! Have you been enjoying your weekend? Jon and I have been having a slight sport fest with The Open and The Ashes on, flicking back and forth between the two! I have managed to make a couple of cards too.

I was asked to make a card for someone who loves shoes and the first stamps that came into mind were the Retail Therapy set from Elzybells. With that thought came the fantastic card that Michelle made during the sneak peek releases for this set and I just had to CASE it! I didn't have any black Bazzil Swiss Dots card, so I went with this gorgeous pink. The stripped ribbon across the centre is from SU! which I acquired from the lovely Jules. For a change I have also included a picture of the inside. I don't usually do much on the inside, but I wanted to include a couple of the images from the set without cluttering the front of the card.

When I finished the card, I realised that it fitted this weeks Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which this week is to include spots (card) and stripes (ribbon).
I do plan to start making some Christmas cards now, although one of my new years resolutions was to make a couple each week. Didn't quite keep that one! I don't want to leave it too late and then just not enjoy making them. Have you started yours yet?!?
Thanks for stopping by and any comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.
