Lil Baby Boy!

Sunday 28 March 2010
Completely unheard of, 3 posts in one day! Please scroll further down to see my Just Cute Bears DT card for this week..

My sister asked me if I could make a baby boy card for a friend who is due to give birth very soon (yes, they know it's a boy!). This gave me the perfect excuse to use my new Lili of the Valley stamp. These stamps are so cute and very reasonable.

I had such fun colouring this image in and I'm really pleased with it. The papers are downloads from Nitwits and I have the fab Dawny P to thank for pointing me in their direction! My MS doily lace punch received another outing on this card and some organza ribbon. The sentiment is a Francoise Reed Woodware stamp and I finished off with some pale blue dew drops.

A close-up of this lil cutie pie! You could just squeeze his lil chubby cheeks!

I am going to enter this card into this weeks Creative Card Crew challenge which is Dots!
Thank you for stopping by once more and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.
I can't believe it's Sunday evening already! At least it's only a 4 day week followed by a 4 day weekend!

I was just checking out my blog to make sure that my Just Cute Bears post had posted okay and I've spotted that my blog counter has disappeared! This had been counting visitors for 2 years! Anyone have any ideas as to how I can get it back, or should I wait and see if it will magically reappear??

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Just Cute Bears #10 - Easter

Good morning, I hope you've remembered to put your clocks forward an hour! That's always the harder one to adjust to isn't it, realising it's actually an hour later than you thought!

Anyway, it's time for another Just Cute Bears Challenge and our theme for this week is Easter. Before I show my card, I just wanted to say a BIG thank you again to everyone that took part last week, I really do enjoy looking at every one's creations.

For my card this week, I decided to use this cute Forever Friends decoupage kit that I picked up at the NEC last year. I'm starting to like decoupage, especially when it's die cute for me! I use silicone glue now when decoupaging as it's a lot more flexible and forgiving than 3d foam pads. All the papers and elements are part of the kit, the only extra that I used was the pale blue card for the base and scalloped oval. This card is from SU! So that it wasn't too plain at the bottom, I cut out some additional little eggs and have used silicone glue to help them stand out a bit too.

A close up of the cute bear!

And now for a bit of an "arty" shot from me so you can see the dimension in the card.

We are sponsored by the fabulous Cuddly Buddly Crafts, so please check out the blog for the rest of the amazing DT girls cards and I hope you'll join us!

I'd better crack on as I have a few cards on order that I need to finish as well as some little Easter treats for friends at work.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Just Cute Bears #9 - Jane's Sketch #2

Sunday 21 March 2010
Happy Sunday everyone! It's 9am so that means it's time for another Just Cute Bears Challenge!

Thank you to everyone who entered last week, I really enjoyed seeing every one's All White cards. I know some people found it a challenge but I hope you'll agree that they do look so good. Don't forget to check out last weeks lucky winner.

This week we have been lucky enough for the fabulous Jane to provide us with another of her wonderful sketches. Knowing my fear of them, I was quite happy with the look of this one and didn't panic too much!

It gave me the perfect opportunity to use one of my new Lili of the Valley stamps, Teddy with Bouquet. Isn't he adorable?! I wasn't too happy with my colouring though, I feel he's too dark and the shading is all wrong but I didn't have time to do it again I'm afraid. I used some lovely pale yellow Core'dinantions CS as the base. The white CS has been embossed with the infamous Swiss Dots folder before being punched with my MS Doily Lace punch. Due to the slight gap, I embossed some lines using my scor-pal. The image was coloured with copics before being cut out with rectangle nestabilities and backed onto a scalloped rectangle base. The ribbon across the top is quite difficult to spot but it's SU!. The colour matched perfectly with the CS. The flowers are Prima and the oval sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

I think I over enhanced the photo as the CS looks quite bring, but I can assure you, in real-life, it is lovely and pale! It was overcast when I took the photo, so I tried to brighten it up a bit, but think I went too far....oops!
A close-up of the lil fella.....isn't he just adorable! I decided to make this a Get Well card as I thought the colours were soothing and it makes a change from birthday cards.
I hope you'll join us again this week. We are, as always, sponsored by the fab Cuddly Buddly. Please check out the blog for this weeks prize and also to see the cards by my amazing DT buddies.
Thank you for stopping by and the comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated. I'm now off to make a fruit tea loaf and maybe some muffins! Hope you all have a lovely day.

Multi Challenge Card!!!

Saturday 20 March 2010
Good Morning everyone, it's Saturday!! Such a shame that it's overcast and drizzly but hey, at least I don't have to go to work! This week has felt like such a long week so I'm glad that I can finally get some "me time".

It was my line manager's birthday on St Patricks Day so I quickly whipped up a card for her. As we work for Natural England and work towards enhancing the countryside and the environment, I thought this cute Elzybells Sheep stamp would be perfect! The backing colouring obviously had to be green so I used this fab Core'dinations card stock and embossed it with the Bloom Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is from the same Elzybells stamp set and has been cut out with the tags nestabilities set
I'm pleased to say that I can enter this card into a few challenges too, which is almost unheard of for me at the moment!
Cupcake Craft - Going Green
Simon Says - St Patricks Day/ A Splash of Green
Craft Catz - Spring
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Creative Inspirations - White, Yellow & Green (just some yellow!)
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Absolute Heaven!!

Thursday 18 March 2010
OMG!!! Jon ad I went to see Ronan Keating in Oxford on Tuesday night and had an absolutely fantastic time! We were 5th row and, because this was a theatre tour, you felt so close to him!

He put on an amazing show for us fans and the atmosphere was electric. There were a few sad moments when he talked about Steo but we all lifted him back again!

Thought I'd share with you one of my fav photos from the night.

Just Cute Bears #8 - All White

Sunday 14 March 2010
I hope this post works as I'm currently in Bath on a hen weekend so won't be able to fix it if it doesn't! One of my good friends is getting married next month so we're off making chocolate truffles and enjoying a nice Italian.

Well, it's Sunday so that means it time for another Just Cute Bears challenge! Thank you to everyone who entered last weeks Mother's Day challenge, I had a great time looking at all the entries. Don't forget to check out the blog to so who last weeks lucky winner is.

This week's challenge is All White. With the exception of your bear image, the rest of your card or project should be white.

I actually enjoyed this challenge as I think cards that are just white are very elegant. I took this opportunity to use a stamp that had never seen an ink pad. I can't believe that I've had this cute Louis by Wild Rose Studios for nearly a year and not inked him up! I coloured him with copics before cutting him out with nestabilities. The base is made of shimmer card that has been embossed with my swiss dots folder and then punched with my MS Valentine Lace punch. I finished it off with some ribbon and Hero Art flowers

This card has already found a home! I gave it to a very good friend for their birthday. I will definitely be using this stamp again. Here's a close-up of how cute Louis is!

We are once again sponsored by the fabulous Cuddly Buddly so please join us this week and see if you can win!

Thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Happy Mother's Day

Friday 12 March 2010
I needed to make another Mother's Day card for my mum as my Just Cute Bears challenge card is for my MIL.

I used one of my Popcorn stamps from the Thanks a Bunch set. This stamp is so cute and I had a great time colouring it with my copics. I actually think it looks okay. The base is made up of Core'dinations CS and Daisy & Dandelion backing paper. The finishing touches are a CWC oval and some ribbon.

It's a simpe card, just what I need to try and get my mojo back. I really like the zesty colours.

I'm going to enter this in the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday -Celebrations (I think mother's day is a celebration)

Thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Need Your Help!

Monday 8 March 2010
I really need your help in locating my mojo! If you have any ideas on what I can do to find it again or any challenges that may help me I would be really grateful.

I'm getting down by my lack of creativity and am becoming increasing frustrated which I hate. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Just Cute Bears #7 - Mothers Day

Sunday 7 March 2010
Good morning to you wherever you are waking up. It's a bright but frosty start to the day here in Berkshire on FA Cup Quarter Final Day!! I've just woken and realised that I've not scheduled my post for this morning so am quickly doing it now!

Thank you to everyone that took part in last weeks Just Cute Bears Challenge. I had a really enjoyable time going round and looking at everyone's entries. Don't forget to check the blog to see if you were our lucky winner.

With Mother's Day just a week a way (in the UK), this week we would like to see you create a Mother's Day card or project.

I'm back with the Forever Friends this week. I love these bears and they are so easy to colour. The image has been coloured with copics and then cut out with oval nestabilities. The embossed background is actually from a sizzix winter set but I think it can cover a multitude of occasions. I've used Core'dinations cardstock and, if you look carefully, you can see slightly distressed look on the embossing where there white core has come through. The sentiment is part of an Elzybells set that covers ALL family members. It's such a great set.

Here is a close up of the coloured image

I've been having a hard time with my mojo recently so I saw this layout out on one of Michelle's fabulous cards and decided to CASE it. If anyone has seen my mojo can they send it back because I miss it and my craft room is feeling neglected! In the meantime, I seem to have found a new passion for baking and keep whipping up batches of muffins for my friends at work! I've a whole list of things I'd like to try out next. Not so good on the waistline!

Anyway, make sure you check out the rest of the amazing DT Creations.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.
