Belated Father's Day Card

Monday, 4 July 2011
Good Morning All! Hopefully you're recovering from the shock of a 3rd day of posting!  This is a scheduled post as I should be at work now, but whilst typing this I'm currently watching the Men's Final at Wimbledon!

I realised that I didn't show you the Father's Day card that I'd made for my dad.  I posted my Father-in-Laws but completely forgot my dad's; sorry dad!  I used another of the male LOTV stamps, I think this one is called Footy Ted.  I wasn't brave enough to try and recreate my football team's colours as it would've been blue and white hoops and I don't think I could've worked out the shading properly!  He's been coloured with copics and the papers are from Pink Petticoat again.  The sentiment is an Elzybells stamp.  In my dad's case it should ready "There are only two things in life; Football & Bowls!"  The cardstock is some of my favourite Bazzil Basics.

I don't think he looks too bad now does he?? I was concerned that I might have overdone the brown polychromo but it looks fine now.  I do need a new pot to put my sansador in with the sponge as my first one leaked and it's not something you want to smell to often!!  In our LOTV class they used Flowersoft pots with a bath sponge soaking it.

I'd best go as hubby is just starting to dish up my Sunday dinner (Confusing when this is posting Monday morning!! LOL).

Thank you again for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Apologies

Saturday, 16 April 2011
I hope there are still people out there reading this.  I'm sorry it's been a couple of weeks since my last post.  I have been rather unwell since I had my injection two weeks ago.  On the day that I went in for the procedure I was feeling a little unwell with a sore throat and the feeling that I was coming down with a cold.  The anaesthetist was still happy for it to go ahead but warned that having a breathing tube may exacerbate the problem and that, if I did start to feel unwell, then I should go to the docs sooner rather than later due to my asthma.  Unfortunately things went downhill and I ended up on steroids for 10 days and antibiotics for a week.  I've been off work for two weeks and only the last day or two have I started to feel better with the exception of being tired.  I am allowed back to work on Monday though.

The only thing that I felt like doing at my worst was reading and, in less than a week I managed to read the entire Twilight saga on my Kindle!! I'm sooooooo behind everyone else in reading this series but am completely hooked!  I now have to start on the films!

Before I went into hospital, I'd been busy with a few card orders and I thought I would show one of those cards for you today.  This card was the Mother's Day Card for the first time mum.  I was really pleased with how this turned out.

I decided to use one of my Popcorn Bear Baby stamps and the DP has been printed from one of the Popcorn CD's too.  The roses and lace trim are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I made an easel card as I wanted it to be really special as you only have one first Mother's Day.

The sentiment says "To the most Special Mummy in the World",  The stamps are from a few Elzybells sentiment stamp sets that I have in my collection.
I created a pocket to hold a tag that I created using Marianne Designs Tag die so that a message could be included.  I have to admit that the fitting was a bit snug for the tag but I don't know how else to add this!

My mojo has been AWOL since I became poorly but I'm hoping that it's starting to return as I have a run of birthdays coming up that I need to make a start on!

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.  I am hoping to have a blog hopping evening so I can catch up on everyone's blogs.

GDT - PBSC #142 - Think Green

Saturday, 12 March 2011
Good morning all, I hope you're looking forward to your weekend, they certainly go quick enough!

It's my 2nd week as a guest designer on Penny Black Saturday and I'm loving it!  Thank you to everyone that took part in last weeks challenge.

This week with St Patrick's Day on Thursday we want you to think Green! This wasn't so easy for me as green isn't one of my favourite colours and I was looking at my stamps wondering which ones would work with the colour.  I ended up going back to one of my earlier PB stamps.

Supplies:
Stamp: Spring Parade - Penny Black; Sentiment - Elzybells; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black & Copics
CS & DP: Core'dinations, Nana's Nursery - DCWV; Tools: Daisies  Embossing Folder- Crafts Too, Tags & Circle - Nesties
Embellishments: Ribbon, Gemstones & Brads - Stash

I decided to have a go at making a Step Card after seeing this beautiful card and tutorial by Heather.  It wasn't the easiest card to photograph and I'm not sure whether I should have used thicker card to make it sturdier
The lil chicks don't appear to have much shading but I can assure you that IRL they do! This card is for my boss, Christine's, birthday which happens to fall on St Paddy's Day.  I hope she likes it!

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Teddy Stampers #30 - Colour Challenge

Friday, 18 February 2011
I'm sorry that I'm late with my post today. I'm on my 3rd day off work and am on very strong painkillers at the moment because of my back. These tablets are making me feel very woozy!

It's time for another challenge at Teddy Bear Stampers. Thank you to everyone that joined in our last challenge of Valentine Teddies, they were all amazing! Our challenge this week is we would like to see Pink, Brown & White on your creations and we are being sponsored by the amazing Whiff of Joy.

I think this colour combo could become a favourite of mine, I love how the brown and pink work so well together.  As I was making this card for my sister, I had to use the cute Born to Shop stamp from Lili of the Valley
 Supplies:
Stamps: Born to Shop - Lili of the Valley; Sentiment - Woodware; Medium: Copics
CS & DP: Cookie Dough - Elzybells; Pink Petticoat; Wild Rose Studio
Tools: Circle & Scallop nesties; MS Doily Lace Punch
Embellishments: Cookie Dough Buttons - Elzybells; Ribbon & Gems - Stash; Glossy Accents

I don't think you can quite see in the picture below, but I've put some Glossy Accents on the sunglasses.  The brown CS looks orangey in the photos but I can assure you that in real life it's a lovely pale brown!

Isn't she cute!

I hope you will join us for this challenge, just remember you need to use a rubber, acrylic or digital teddies on your creations!

I am also entering this into this weeks Lili of the Valley Challenge which is to use your favourite colours.  As I've said previously, I think this could become a favourite with me!

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Teddy Stampers #29 - Valentine Teddies

Friday, 4 February 2011
Good Morning All and happy Friday to you!  Do you have that "crunchie feeling"?!

Thank you to everyone that took part in the last Teddy Stampers Challenge, I enjoyed seeing all the cards, I apologies if I didn't get to post on your entry but I did see them all and they were all amazing!

This week's challenge is Valentine Teddies.  With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we want to see those gorgeous teddies for the romantic person in your life.

For this challenge we are sponsored by Stampin Dragon Designs.

I have used one of my Popcorn Platinum stamps from Crafters Companion.  These are stamps that I have had since they were released last year but am ashamed to admit that they have never been inked up.  This is my card for my husband, Jon, this year.  I am able to post it as he does not visit my blog!

 Supplies:
Stamps: Popcorn Bear, Perfect Couple - Crafters Companion; Sentiment - Elzybells
Medium: Copics; CS & DP: Real Red - SU!; Forever Friends - All Loved Up
Tools: Love Language - CB Embossing Folder; Circle Nesties
Embellishments: Ribbon & Gems - Stash
As you can see from this close up, I realised ater took the photo that I hadn't coloured the leaf, but this has now been rectified!  Sorry for the dark photos but I was unable to take the photo in daylight.

I really do need to get myself the Real Red inkpad as I'm not happy that the sentiment yet again does not match the colours used!

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

The Sweet Stop - Sketch
Crafty Purple Frog - Valentine's Day/Romance
Crafty Sentiments - A Bear on a Card
Digi Doodle Shop - Valentines
Paper Crafting Journey - Love is in the Air
Paper Play - Stamp it Out

Just Cute Bears #20 - Fathers Day

Sunday, 6 June 2010
I'm sorry I've been AWOL again for the week. I have been really busy making two wedding and an anniversary bookatrix as well as my challenge card for this weeks Just Cute Bears Challenge. I will be posting my cards throughout the week so keep checking back!

Thank you to everyone that took part in last weeks Just Cute Bears challenge, there were so many lovely cards out there.

This weeks challenge is for Fathers Day. As it is fast approaching we thought it would be a good idea to make sure that you got your cards made early.

I took the opportunity to choose a stamps that I'd had for 12 months but had not yet seen an inkpad! This stamp is from Elzybells and so adorable. He's been coloured with copics and then cut out with my nesties. The CS is from SU! I think it's Close to Cocoa but don't quote me on that! The DP is from the new Hampstead Park pack which is great for men. It's been finished of with a CWC sentiment oval.

It's a very plan card but I think it's perfect for men. They don't do lots of embellishments or punches. I did contemplate a few buttons but then decided it was perfect as it was.

Please check out the blog to see all my fab teamies cards, including our newest recruit!
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Multi Challenge Card!!!

Saturday, 20 March 2010
Good Morning everyone, it's Saturday!! Such a shame that it's overcast and drizzly but hey, at least I don't have to go to work! This week has felt like such a long week so I'm glad that I can finally get some "me time".

It was my line manager's birthday on St Patricks Day so I quickly whipped up a card for her. As we work for Natural England and work towards enhancing the countryside and the environment, I thought this cute Elzybells Sheep stamp would be perfect! The backing colouring obviously had to be green so I used this fab Core'dinations card stock and embossed it with the Bloom Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is from the same Elzybells stamp set and has been cut out with the tags nestabilities set
I'm pleased to say that I can enter this card into a few challenges too, which is almost unheard of for me at the moment!
Cupcake Craft - Going Green
Simon Says - St Patricks Day/ A Splash of Green
Craft Catz - Spring
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Creative Inspirations - White, Yellow & Green (just some yellow!)
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Just Cute Bears #7 - Mothers Day

Sunday, 7 March 2010
Good morning to you wherever you are waking up. It's a bright but frosty start to the day here in Berkshire on FA Cup Quarter Final Day!! I've just woken and realised that I've not scheduled my post for this morning so am quickly doing it now!

Thank you to everyone that took part in last weeks Just Cute Bears Challenge. I had a really enjoyable time going round and looking at everyone's entries. Don't forget to check the blog to see if you were our lucky winner.

With Mother's Day just a week a way (in the UK), this week we would like to see you create a Mother's Day card or project.

I'm back with the Forever Friends this week. I love these bears and they are so easy to colour. The image has been coloured with copics and then cut out with oval nestabilities. The embossed background is actually from a sizzix winter set but I think it can cover a multitude of occasions. I've used Core'dinations cardstock and, if you look carefully, you can see slightly distressed look on the embossing where there white core has come through. The sentiment is part of an Elzybells set that covers ALL family members. It's such a great set.

Here is a close up of the coloured image

I've been having a hard time with my mojo recently so I saw this layout out on one of Michelle's fabulous cards and decided to CASE it. If anyone has seen my mojo can they send it back because I miss it and my craft room is feeling neglected! In the meantime, I seem to have found a new passion for baking and keep whipping up batches of muffins for my friends at work! I've a whole list of things I'd like to try out next. Not so good on the waistline!

Anyway, make sure you check out the rest of the amazing DT Creations.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Just Cute Bears #6 - Mint & Brown

Sunday, 28 February 2010
Another week has gone by and I've been another bad blogger and card maker. I can only apologise yet again.

It's time for another Just Cute Bears Challenge. Thank you to everyone that took part last week, I saw some amazing cards out there. Please check the blog to see last weeks lucky winner.

This weeks challenge is a colour combo of Mint & Brown. These are two colours that I don't use very often, certainly not together so I found it a challenge in itself! We are once again sponsored by the amazing Cuddly Buddly

I'm conscious that all my cards so far have featured Forever Friends bears so I was determind to use one of my other many cute bears for this card and who better than Cutie Patootie from Elyzbells. I've also made a C6 card for a change too. The CS is Bazzil Basics. I simply mounted the green onto the brown before mounting onto the card blank. I then cut another strip of the brown CS and puunched both sides with the MS Doily Lace Punch before attaching some green and white polka dot ribbon. The flower is from Hero Arts and was cream until I coloured it with my Copics. The image has also been coloured with Copics before being cut using oval nesties and mounted onto a brown scallop oval.

Please check out the blog to see the rest of the DT's awesome cards!

I haven't attached a sentiment at the present time as I'm not sure what I'm going to use if for just yet, but I think it could cover a multitude of occasions.

I'm sorry about the slightly wonky photo, I'm not sure what happened there! It was definitely standing straight when I took the photo!

Thank you for stopping by and for the comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Crazy 4 Challenges #20

Friday, 22 January 2010
Please Scroll Down For Last Nights Late Post
I thought I had better post this card quickly before the next challenge is set for tomorrow, especially after the howler of my previous post!
Yes, I've entered another sketch challenge! The third in a row! This one is for the Crazy 4 Challenges.
I've made another romantic card and used one of my favourite images from last years Elzybells Valentine release. I've used red and white as my colour scheme again. The red is from Stampin Up! which I get from the lovely Jules. The background has been embossed using the Heart Block CB folder and then edged using the MS Valentines punch. I think I'm making up for lost time with this, what do you think?!? The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is a CWC oval.

Sorry for the quick post but I've got to finish getting ready for work!

Hope you all have a great day. Thank you for stopping by and any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Season's Tweetings

Saturday, 28 November 2009
I was up at 7:30am this morning and made a couple of cards before going Christmas shopping with my mum and dad. Just chilling now with the football. I'll probably make a couple more cards later, before watching the X Factor. Who are you voting for?? I'm routing for Danyl as he's from my home town but I also love little Joe and also Stacey!

Well, I told you that I loved this weeks Mojo Monday sketch and I have to warn you that you may be seeing it a few more times yet! I've adapted slightly for this card. I've used another of my favourite Elzybells stamps featuring that cute reindeer! I thought that I had the "Seasons Tweetings" sentiment to go with it but have not been able to find it, so I'll probably have to generate it on my PC. I'm sorry about the photo quality, the light still wasn't that great this morning and I didn't want to overdo it with the software.

I've used my two favourite shades of Bazzill blue. I love these colours and always have to make sure I've got some in stock as they're great for Xmas, men and baby cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Robin - Elzybells; Inks: Copics, Memento Tuxedo Black
CS & Paper : Bazzil Basics, Bristol Board ; Tools: Snow Dots CB Folder, Nestabilities, MS Doily Lace Punch, X-Cut Snowflake punch

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. Tomorrow looks to be a pretty miserable day, perfect excuse to spend the day making cards (before the Arsenal - Chelsea match)!

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Elzybells Challenge 32 - Seeing Stars

Sunday, 22 November 2009
Well, my software arrived early and I've had a bit of a play so I hope the photos look ok. I'd like to put a watermark on my photos but don't really know how, so if someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

I've made this card for this fortnights Elzybells Challenge which is Seeing Stars. My image has a star, the saying mentions stars and I've added a silver star border with some peel-offs so I hope I've covered everything!

This is one of my favourite Elzybells Christmas stamps, it's so sweet! I've sprayed the embossed panel with Silver Spray and Sparkle which is from Crafters Companion. You might be able to see if a bit better on the close-up photo below.
I got the idea for the word circle from the wonderful Sue Nelson! If you've not visited her gallery before, you don't know what your missing! This lady is a genius!
Apologies for no supplies details. I'm posting this quickly before my roast is dished up!

What Girl Doesn't Enjoy A Lil' Bit of Retail Therapy..??

Sunday, 18 October 2009
I have to admit that I made this card whilst I was going through my doubting period and I didn't think it was that great. It was a rush job for a friend at works birthday (one of those night before cards!). However, having looked at it again, I have decided that I do like it and felt that it deserved to be shown on here!

I used the Elzybells dinkie Retail Therapy set for this card. I think this set is a must for any girly cards that we need to make! I think the cardstock is from Stamping Up!, but I'm not entirely sure, so don't quote me on that! If it is, then you can get some from the lovely Jules.

I hope to have some new cards to show really soon as I was contentedly sat colouring images in last night whilst I was watching the telly.

I hope everyone is having a good day. Thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Elzybells Challenge 29

Friday, 16 October 2009
I hope that there are still some people out there who are following my blog! I know it's been a while, but I've been really poorly with my asthma and have been on steroids to try and help my breathing improve.

This fortnights challenge over at Elzybells is to create a 3d object. Well, with Halloween fast approaching I thought I would make some little treat bags. The template for these bags can be found here. I used the Happy Hauntings mini set for these as I think they are just perfect. I've also been trying out the new Inky Dinks that Elizabeth has released for the white stamping, but think I put too much on, so still a bit of practising required there.

If you click on the photos it should enlarge them for you in a separate window, should you wish to do so.
I really hope you like them and thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.
I promise I will start getting round to everyone's blogs again really soon to see what you been up to in my absence.

More Christmas Cards

Tuesday, 11 August 2009
I'm sorry it's taken me this long to post the remaining cards that I made during my craft day with Nikola. I'm pleased to say that I'm now feeling better and have put the finishing touches to these cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Robin - Elzybells; Inks: Memento TB & Copics;
CS & DP: Bazzill Basics & Doodlebug
Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities, Argyle CB Folder
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Senitment - CWC, Silver Border Peel-off - Papermania

CS & DP: Papermania & DCWV Christmas Stack;

Supplies:

I have used my favourite red card from Papermania and Bazzil Basic blues for these cards. I hate to use them for fear of running out and not being able to get them ever again, but they are perfect colours for Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day. Thank you for stopping by and any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

A productive craft day!

Saturday, 25 July 2009
I hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday. We've had some lovely weather here today which makes a change to the rain we've had most of the week.

Anyway, I've spent the day with my best friend, Nikola crafting away in her conservatory. I managed to make 5 Christmas cards amidst the chatter and cats! Rather than post them all today though, I thought I would spread them out over a couple of days.

I've used my cute Forever Friends Santa stamps again, isn't he adorable?!? I'm hoping that this is acceptable for the Winter Wonderland Challenge which is Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I know it's a little late!
Supplies:
Stamps: Santa - Forever Friends; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics & Rangers Inkessential White pen
CS & DP: Papermania card, DCWV The Christmas Stack
Tools: Swiss Dots CB Folder, Circle nestabilities
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Sentiment - CWC oval; Anita's peel off borders

I was really happy with the colouring and shading of this image, I'm finally starting to love my pens!

The second card uses the really sweet Reindeer & Robin stamp from Elzybells. I was inspired to get these stamps after seeing some amazing cards by Michelle last Christmas. He is so sweet!

Supplies:
Stamps: Reindeer & Robin - Elzybells; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics & Rangers Inkessential White pen;
CS: Bazzill Basics and CWC white card;
Tools: Snowflake CB Folder, Square nestabilities
Embellishments: Gems - Papermania, Sentiment - CWC oval; Anita's peel off borders

I know the cards are fairly simple, but that's my style!
I'm just sitting down now to watch Marley & Me so I will see you later! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Confessions of a Shopaholic!

Sunday, 19 July 2009
Afternoon all! Have you been enjoying your weekend? Jon and I have been having a slight sport fest with The Open and The Ashes on, flicking back and forth between the two! I have managed to make a couple of cards too.

I was asked to make a card for someone who loves shoes and the first stamps that came into mind were the Retail Therapy set from Elzybells. With that thought came the fantastic card that Michelle made during the sneak peek releases for this set and I just had to CASE it! I didn't have any black Bazzil Swiss Dots card, so I went with this gorgeous pink. The stripped ribbon across the centre is from SU! which I acquired from the lovely Jules. For a change I have also included a picture of the inside. I don't usually do much on the inside, but I wanted to include a couple of the images from the set without cluttering the front of the card.

When I finished the card, I realised that it fitted this weeks Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which this week is to include spots (card) and stripes (ribbon).
I do plan to start making some Christmas cards now, although one of my new years resolutions was to make a couple each week. Didn't quite keep that one! I don't want to leave it too late and then just not enjoy making them. Have you started yours yet?!?
Thanks for stopping by and any comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.

More cards for the fete

Wednesday, 15 July 2009
Thanks for all the kind messages regarding the fete, they are much appreciated. As I said, I've not let it get to me this time as I receive so many lovely comments on my cards from all you wonderful people.

I've a few more cards to show you that I made. Please accept my apologies for not posting what I have used for each individual one, but if you have any questions, just drop me a message and I'll do my best to help.

Sorry about the darkness of the photo's in some of them. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them.
Thank you for stopping by and any comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Hearts

Saturday, 11 July 2009
I made this card yesterday and found out that it fits this week's A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge which is to include hearts somewhere on your creation. Mine might not be so easy to see, but the embossed background is hearts from the Love Language cuttlebug combo.

I just love this stamp, it's so cute and was one of the first Elzybells stamps I purchased before they launched their online store.

Supplies:
Stamps: Baby Teddy Towel - Elzybells; Inks: Memento TB & Copics
CS & DP: Craftwork Cards, Bazzil Basics & Hugs & Cuddles - Forever Friends
Tools: Label 1 - Nestabilities, Love Language CB combo, MS Doily Lace Punch
Embellishments: Sentiment - CWC Oval; Ribbon - Stash
I hope this card fits the challenge okay. Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.
