Meant to Be

Saturday, 9 February 2013
Happy Saturday to everyone! I hope it is good where ever you are.  It's a bit wet and cold here and we've had some sleet, but hopefully no snow.

I am starting to make a bit of headway into regaining my craftyness and am making some cards and other bits.  I even have one to show you today!

This is my Valentine's card for Jon.  I love this image, it's so sweet but it was also the name of it that made be buy it. It's called Meant to Be.  Jon and I have been together 10 years this month and he always says that we were meant to be. I've known Jon 16 years now and there was an incident 16 years ago where Jon ended up waiting with me for my dad to arrive, to make sure I got home safely.  He told me once we were together that he felt that evening that that wasn't the end of things for us.  We weren't together at that time, but he was looking after me.  Anyway, enough waffle!

I hate to admit that I have had this stamp nearly a year and it's the first time it's been used!  The papers I also purchased last year and are a First Edition pad called Love Letters.  I actually chose the papers before I coloured the image, which never happens!

The little lads hairs is based on Jon's own reddish brown hair.  It's not perfect, but as you know, I don't normally colour humans, normally bears!  I'm trying to do new things!

I'm going to enter this card into a few challenges:

Sketch n Stash - Neglected stash - Stamp and papers
Lili's Little Fairies - A Touch of Romance
Totally Papercrafts - Valentine or Love
Cute Card Thursday - Love Struck!
Without Words - I Love to Love
Raise the Bar - A Couple of Things

I will try and get round to doing some blog hopping this evening.  My parents are here at the moment so can't be rude!

Have a good evening.  Thank you for stopping by, I do appreciate your comments especially with my lack of cards/comments over the past 12 months.

Items for Sale

Saturday, 19 January 2013
I hope everyone is safe and well following the recent snow!

I've added a link at the top of page to items for sale.  I'm having a bit of clear out of bits I've not used for while (or ever in some cases) in preparation for tidying my craft room up and getting myself back into it.  All proceeds will hopefully be going towards a Cameo!

Please take a look at see if there are any bargains that take your fancy!

Another Christmas Card

Monday, 14 January 2013
I know I promised to post more Christmas cards in my last post before Christmas but time got away.  I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Jon and I eventually managed to get rid of our germs and enjoy ourselves.

We had two weeks off work and in that time purchased a new sofa for our lounge which we managed to get delievered a week later so we can now relax, reclining of an evening! I'm also slowly attempting to sort my craft room out.  I'm ashamed to admit that the furniture I purchased last year from IKEA is still in it's boxes.  My mission is to get the room sorted as well as decorating our lounge.  I have made a start and have been having a bit of a clear our of my stash.

For those of you on Facebook, I've an album of items for sale in a group and the link can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/craftysellers/#!/media/set/?set=oa.404654862906286&type=1

Anyway, below is a card that I made before Christmas.  I got the inspiration from Kelly's card here .

I love the clean and simple feel of the card. I managed to incorporate the snow dots embossing folder to create the snow.  This card is quite apt for today given the weather some people have been experiencing in the UK.

Here's a close up of the little bear.  I was really pleased with how this came out as it's been so long since I'd picked up my copics.  He was a delight to colour and made me fall in love with my bears again.

Anyway, I hope you are all well. I'm hoping to get some blog hopping done tonight to see what you've all been up to.

Thanks for popping by, your comments are really appreciated.

Merry Christmas

Saturday, 22 December 2012
I've a feeling I might surprise a few people by the very fact that I'm posting as it's been two months since my last post (why does that sounds like the beginning of a confession?!).  I hope everyone is ready for Christmas.  I can't believe how quickly it has come round.

This next bit will surprise people even more.......I've made some cards!  It's been so long and it actually felt enjoyable again.  I'm not going to push myself with this but I am hopeful that this is the resurgence I've been longing for.

The card I'm going to show today is one I made for one of my very best friends little boy.  She welcomed Jonah in March of this year and he is such a sweetheart. I really wanted to make a card for his first Christmas.

I'd already coloured the image when I embossed the background. Unfortunately it caused the card to warp slightly, but I hope it's still ok.  You can't see in this photo but I'd put stickles on all the snowflakes to make it sparkle, as well as some Glamour Dust on the fur trim and bobble of the hat.

If I'm correct, the image is little Baby Jack from the Humphrey's Corner range.  I'm ashamed to admit that this is the first time that I've inked him up and I must've had him a good 18 months.  I've got so many stamps like this.

Anyway, I hope you like the card.  I will be aiming to post the others over the next few days.

I hope you are all well. Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they will be greatly appreciated, especially after such a long absence.

xx

It's been a while

Saturday, 20 October 2012
I know, it's been 5 very long months since my last post. I know a few people are probably wondering what has been happening since my last post. Those closest to me will know that Bobby went back to the animal shelter. They will also know that it wasn't an easy decision for me to make, but ultimately it was the right one for us.

Since that time I've been very up & down. My crafty mojo has been away & even now it's not really here, although I am trying to think about crafting. I think everything with my back & Bobby has taken a lot out of me. It's now been 8 months since my op & I've been discharged from the hospital. I do still suffer aches & pains but the doctors told me it is still early days & could take another 6-12 months to completely heal. I have recently started going to Pilates to try & help strengthen my core muscles. I'm also trying 30mins on a cross trainer twice a week to exercise, although Thursday I only managed 15mins & was then completely wiped out.

I appreciate people who have stuck around even through my lack of crafting. I do hope that it will come back. I have recently started looking at people's blogs again to see what has been happening & what the latest trends are. Who knows, I may return before the year is out or I may write this year off & hope that 2013 will be better.

Anyway, I wanted to,let you all know that I'm still around.

Struggling with new cat

Thursday, 31 May 2012
Those of you that are regulars will know that 6 months ago we lost our beloved cat, Bozzy.  He meant the whole world to me, even though I only knew him the latter years of his life.

On Tuesday we adopted a new cat, Bobby, from the RSPCA.  He's a 14 month old tabby cat.  The thing is, I'm struggling.  I keep crying and wanting Bozzy.  I feel in complete inner turmoil, I go to bed feeling sickly and wake up exactly the same.  I play with him and interact with him but I'm detached from emotions and feel empty, nothing.

People keep telling me it's normal and takes time, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be ready to accept another cat into my life and home.

I know Bobby has done nothing wrong, he's a sweet enough thing, but I don't know what to do.

I don't want to be like this and I'm scared.

Please can anyone help me?
