Stamp Organisation?!?

Monday, 3 January 2011
Afternoon everyone, I can't believe that the 10 days off work have all but gone and we go back tomorrow! How hard is it going to be getting up at 5:30 tomorrow morning after all those lie-ins?!?

Enough mopping! My reason for posting is to ask how everyone organises their rubber stamps?  I have so many stamps, many that have not been inked up since they were purchased!  I want to try and ensure that I use more of my stamps and show you that I do own more than cute teddy bears.  You may be surprised to hear, but I do own a few Magnolia's and Miss Anya stamps, among the many others that are scattered all over my room.  The majority are cute animals, including a HUGE collection of Penny Black stamps.

Do you have a specific way of organising them or have you catalogued them maybe by stamping them all up and putting them in a folder?

I would love to hear your suggestions.

Hi hunny, agree that tomorrow morning is going to come hard! Am setting three alarms to be on the safe side.
Stamp storage, well - I keep mine in the Really Useful Boxes (the size that takes a full pack of printer paper). My small (cough) PB collection are organised by animal, mice, cats, hedgies etc. Other stamps are organised by brand such as Magnolia and LOTV. I can still never find the one I want though ....... LOL!!

I feel you pain hun ... hubby's alarm goes off at 5am tomorrow.

I store all my stamps in canvas baskets from IKEA ... Maggie in one, pBs in another, HM in another etc. I also try to stamp tyhem up into a folder when I get them so I know what I have ... note the try to, cos it doesn't often happen LOL!!

Ouch...that's early! I don't go back to school 'til Friday...so I've got a few more days to build up to the 6am satrts :0)

As for stamp storage...I do the same as Squirrel...but obviously on a much smaller scale ;0)
I don't have a craft room, so keep all of my stash in a cupboard, and the RU boxes are great for hauling around. You can fit 2 layers of WM stamps in them, and still have room for a few clear stamp sets on top in each box. It's easy to see what's in the boxes without having to open them...and they stack too.
I did have my stamps catalogued (I photographed them all...and even had them photos in a Photobucket album as I used to swap a lot of images with a crafty group...and it made it easy for peeps to see what I'd got...but I haven't updated it for over a year...but it's on my list of things to do...
