Well, I'm not quite back in the land of the living but I have finished my Mother's Day cards for my mum and MIL.
I used my trusty bookatrix board for these. I made the bouquet's from small tea roses and baby's breath. This is the first time I have made bouquet's so I hope they're okay.
Sorry about the reflection on the first photo, I couldn't stop the flash reflecting off the pearlescent paper, but have no idea how I managed to avoid it in the second!
I keep think that there's something missing, maybe something down the middle ribbon. What do you think?
Sorry

Just wanted to say I'm sorry that I've not posted anything for a couple of days. I've been busy with my Mother's Day cards plus I've been feeling under the weather too.
I hope to post some pics of the cards for my mum and MIL before the weekend and feel like making some more cards too.

Sue over at Slumber Cards very kindly sent me some stamped Magnolia images to play with as I do not own any of these gorgeous stamps yet. I just want to say a BIG thank you Sue, they are brilliant and the card is gorgeous.
I can't wait to have a play with these stamps and show you all what I've managed to create.

How happy was I today when the postman knocked on my door and handed me a parcel containing my fab new stamps from Whipper Snappers!! Who couldn't love these:
The service from these guys is amazing. They were sent on Friday, so have taken less thank a week to get here. I would certainly take adavantage with it being nearly $2 to the pound.
Can't wait to have a play with them!

Sister's Birthday

Sorry I've not been around much the past few days. Things with my mum got a bit intense, but appear to have turned a corner and it looks like she's on the up again. We're just taking it one day at a time.
Anyway, it was my sisters birthday yesterday and I have to admit to only just making her card. I know she will forgive me.
I have to give credit to Michelle for this layout. I was really struggling for ideas, so I had a browse in Michelle's gallery for some inspiration.
The hedgehog is one of the Penny Black stickeroos. I mounted this onto white CS and then some purple bazzill. The colours are all cooridnated and are part of a monochromatic pack I had lying aroung. I then mounted some papermania paper onto another piece of bazzill card. Another strip was run through the cuttlebug using the d'vine swirls folder. The finishing touchs are some prima flowers and sentiments from Craftwork Cards.
Very simple really, but just the way I like it.

Yay! I have been accepted into the 12th SBS group!!
So now I have to write a little bit about myself. Hmm, where to start?
I've been card making for a couple of years now, but only just started to feel more confident about my cards in the past few months.
I love stamping, absolutely love it!! My favourite stamps are Penny Black and Whipper Snappers. I would love to own a set of Prismacolor pencils so that I can improve my watercolouring skills. I'm also starting to get into decoupage. Nearly forgot, I also love my cuttlebug!!!
I look forward to visiting all my sisters blogs and gaining further experience, skills and inspiration.

It's my young cousin, Abbie's, 9th birthday on Tuesday so I decided it was about time that I made her card.
I have to say that I wasn't feeling very inspired when I was making the card just now. It's been a bit of a tough few days. My mum has depression and we're going through a bit of a rough few days. I've been seeing her most days to try and keep her spirits up and yesterday it seemed to be working, but I got a call from my dad this morning to say that she'd had a really bad night and could I possibly come and see her. It's strange because it seems to have been triggered by a bout of labrynthitis. I myself have had this and it can be very distressing, but for it to have set the depression off is very strange. We're really hoping that she will pick up in the next few days.
That's enough of the waffling, back to the card. As I said, I wasn't feeling very inspired and I always find children's cards difficult to make. I embossed some pearlescent paper with the Happy Birthday embossing folder by Cuttlebug and attached this to some bazzill card before attaching some organza ribbon. The image is courtesy of Charlie Bear and Friends decoupage. Very simple really, not overly happy with it.
I'd better go as it's my sisters birthday on Wednesday and, yes, you've guessed it, I've not made her card either.
Thanks for listening to all my ramblings.

No, not me, but the image I have used for my latest card!! I love this image from Whipper Snapper Designs, how could anyone not forgive you if you received a card with this on.
I stamped and watercoloured the image before mounting the image onto some blue bazzill card. The card blank has been covered with the same card and some pastel blue papermania paper. I also embossed a strip of pale blue card with the d'vine swirls cuttlebug folder and finished off with a Craftwork Cards sentiment and some blue heart gemstones.

Our cat, Boris, has taken to following me into the spare room, where I craft, everytime I try to make a card! I have my stuff spread out over the bed and he always has to have a nose and walk all over it!! Any bag or draw thats open, he has to stick his head!! He's obviously never heard the expression Curiosity Killed the Cat.
Anyway, he's too quick for me to get a photo of him with his head in a bag, but I did manage to get this shot of him!
Isn't he cute!!!!

A BIG Happy Valentine's Day to everybody out there!! I hope you have had some lovely cards from the ones you love.
I've been wanting to show the card I made my husband for ages now, but didn't dare just incase he snuck a look at my blog! I made it using my bookatrix board and the hearts are from the celebration board.
I also made a box to present it in:
I chose the colours blue and white as they're of his favourite team, Chelsea.
He loved it!

The object of this challenge was to create a card with a romantic theme.
I made this card a couple of weeks ago, but it's not been entered into any previous challenges (only started doing this the past couple of days!!)
I love this stamp from Whipper Snappers, the border stamp is also a WS stamp. I used the hearts embossing folder for the cuttlebug and yet another Craftwork Cards sentiment Love these!)

Kimmie's final challenge was to make a Thank You, Thinking of You or You are Special to me card.
I chose to use my Tea Cozy PB stamp for this challenge which was stamped, watercoloured and layered onto some pale blue bazzill card. The card blank was covered with the same pale blue bazzill card and another sheet of paper from my papermania colossal paper pack. The card was finished off with some sticky ribbon and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Sue over at Slumber Cards has kindly offered some Lola stamps as blog candy. All you have to do is design a card which includes Sue's favourite colour, lilac.
I made this card last week and thought that it would perfect for Sue's challenge. I've used the gorgeous Hedgehog Kisses PB stamp which i have watercoloured and mounted onto some lilac bazzill card. The card blank has been covered with some papermania colossal paper and finished off with some organza ribbon, gemstones and another sentiment from Craftwork Cards.
I think I'm starting to get into all this challenges lark and I'm really enjoying it!! I hope you like my cards too.

Kimmie has been having a week of challenges on her blog to celebrate her birthday. Challenge #3 is to design a card using spring colours. I made this card on Monday and have realised that it would be perfect for this challenge. I used one of my Some Bunny to Love decoupage sheets which I mounted onto a scalloped circle cut using my nestabilities. I then attached a strip of yellow patterned paper onto some yellow CS and edged with silver peel offs. The card was then finished off with some Prima flowers and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Tara at Taradesigns has some beautiful Pink Petticoat papers, ribbons, brads etc up for grabs as blog candy. The challenge is to design a new baby card, either girl or boy. I used one my favourite Penny Black stamps for his, Baby Hammock, which I stamped and watercoloured. I then matted and layered this on pink bazzill basics and white card. This was attached to white square card, which also had a layer of pink bazzill and some Making Memories baby girl ribbon attached. This was then finished off with some Prima flowers and gemstones.
