Thank Ewe Cards

Sunday 28 June 2009
It's so hot here already! I know I shouldn't complain about this nice weather but it just seems that we go from one extreme to the other where the weather is concerned. My poor old cat is just flaked out in the cool, bless him!

I can't believe that it's only two weeks to go until this little school fayre that I've been talked in to doing (thanks Nikola!!) and thought it was about time I got my finger out and increased my stock of cards. Some of you may remember that I said I was thinking about doing cards and gifts for the children to give to their teachers. I've not really done much so I made a start on some Thank You cards. I knew all along one of the stamps that I wanted to use. It was the cute lil sheep from the From Me to Ewe set from Elyzbells. The saying was also going to be "Thank Ewe Miss", corny, I know! I did make a mistake on the first card though as the sayings I printed out said "Thank You Miss" and I'd already stuck it to the card before I realised what I'd done.

I managed to make 3 cards after stamping, colouring and cutting 8 of these cute sheep out before my back started to hurt and Wimbledon beckoned!

The last one is my favourite although you can't quite see the embossed Thank You on the bottom. One of these days I might get my photography right! The CS is all Papermania or Core'dinations and the DP is from Pink Petticoat. The images have all been coloured with Copics. Sorry, being lazy and not adding the details under each individual card. If you would like to know something about a particular card, please just ask.

I hope to make a few more today but we've just been doing a spring clean and I'm waiting for the floor to dry in my craft room!

Enjoy the rest of your day and weekend and thank you for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Okay, I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday as I had a lovely evening out with the ladies from work.

Need your help.......homemade bath salts..!!

I've come up with an idea about trying to make some homemade bath salts that I could sell for gifts using the latest Elzybells releases. However it's quite a minefield trying to search for recipes and what works. I was hoping that there might be someone out there who has made bath salts (and know that it doesn't do anything it shouldn't) that might be able to point me in the right direction!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Apologies

Tuesday 23 June 2009
Sorry I've not been around the last couple of days. My backs been playing up again and we ended up purchasing a new mattress on Saturday which was delivered today. I have been made a card today but as I've only just finished it, it's too dark to photograph now so I will post it tomorrow.

Hope everyone is okay.

Stamptacular Sunday - Fabulous Fathers

Wednesday 17 June 2009
Another day and another challenge that I've participated in! I needed to get my Father's Day card finished by tomorrow as my dad is off on his hols on Saturday and tomorrow is the last day that I will see him. The stamp that I've used for this card was made just for my dad and I knew the minute I saw it on the Elzybells site that I had to get it! The card also fits with this weeks Stamptacular Sunday which is to make something for our fabulous fathers.

Supplies:
Stamps: Snoozing Ted & Take it Easy - Elzybells - Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black & Copics
CS: Bazzill Basics, Doodlebug Design Paper Potpourri DP
Tools: Swiss Dots CB folder, Label 2 Nestabilities, Fiskars Threading Water border punch
Embellishments: Ribbon - Stash, Gems - Papermania

I'm a bit worried that it looks too feminine for a guy so am not totally impressed with it. I would really appreciate any comments and suggests you may have.

What Challenges..?!?!

Tuesday 16 June 2009
No new cards today I'm afraid. I just crashed out on the sofa when I got home and fell asleep. Didn't realise how tired I was.

I was just wondering what challenges people recommend to take part in? I've taken part in a few but think that I need to do a few more to test my abilities further.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Forever Friends Challenge - Sketch

Monday 15 June 2009
There must have been something in the air today as I managed to complete a second challenge today! This time it's the Forever Friends Challenge with a fab sketch supplied by Sandra.
Still having trouble working with patterned paper, so I'm just sticking with cs and cuttlebug folders for background and dimension. I love the lighter, peach colour on this card. The flower is just a cut out from a stamp as I don't have a flower punch or peachy flowers. I hope it looks okay.

Supplies
Stamps: Champagne Bear - Forever Friends; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black & Copics
CS: Core'dinations - Docrafts; Tools: Rectangle Nestabilities, Swiss Dots CB Folder
Embellishments: Oval Sentiment - Craftwork Cards, Gems - Papermania

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Friday Sketchers #56

It's been a while since I've taken part in a challenge and I did like the look of the sketch for this weeks Friday Sketchers, courtesy of Jeanette.

I was asked to make a card for a lady who is a Pampered Chef representative. The only stamp that popped into mind was my Baking Tilda. I went to one of these parties last year and, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, purchased some pink products so I thought it only right that the main colours for this card are pink!

I'm really pleased with the colouring and shading on this image. I think I must have been sat there for about an hour getting it right! Very therapeutic.

Supplies;
Stamps: Baking Tilda - Magnolia; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black & Copics
CS: - Core'dinations - Docrafts; Tools: Oval Nestabilities, Swiss Dots CB Folder, MS Lace Doily Punch
Embellishments: Flowers - Prima, Ribbon - Meiflower, Oval Sentiment - Craftwork Cards

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Elzybells Birthday Competition

Saturday 13 June 2009
During the month of June Elzybells are celebrating their 1st birthday! Check out their blog for some amazing offers that Elizabeth has as well as challenges to take part in.

This week Elizabeth would like anything but a card with a birthday theme. I have made two items for this challenge, a pillow box for a girl and a gift card holder for a boy.

On my trip to the NEC, I purchased a pillow treat box template from WS Desgins and this is the first time that I've used it! It wasn't too difficult to put together, the only fiddly bit was trying to score on the curves. I created a purple band to go round the box that I could affix the image. The card has also been put through my good ole cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.

Supplies:
Stamps: Party Teddies - Elzybells; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
CS: Papermania, Bazzill Basics; Tools: Swiss Dots CB Folder, Oval Nestabilites,
Pillow Box Template - WS Designs

I saw the tutorial for the gift card holder on the fabulous No Time To Stamp? blog. Sharon Johnson has some amazing creations, you really must go and check her out. I have to apologies for the peg in the photo. I was trying to take it lying down, but the flap kept raising as I haven't got round to adding anything to close it.

Supplies:
Stamps
: Footie Ted & Football- Elzybells; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics & Versacolour
CS: Bazzill Basics; Tools:Happy Birthday CB Folder, Rectangle Nestabilites,

Just to show you the inside and that any gift card will fit in perfectly, with room to spare!

I'm really pleased with how both of these turned out and will definitely be making more in the future. I hope you like them too.
Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.

Owww!

Wednesday 10 June 2009
Haven't been able to get into my craft room today as I woke up this morning to pain in my upper back, like a minor spasm which has caused great discomfort moving my neck and left arm. Hopefully it will ease in a day or two and I will be able to get back in for some more work.

Thanks for all the lovely birthday messages you have been leaving, they are greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

Tuesday 9 June 2009
I had a lovely birthday yesterday, in spite of being at work and I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to some really lovely people who sent me gorgeous cards.

I would firstly like to say thank you to Michelle for this gorgeous cards and the wonderful gifts that were beautifully wrapped. Do you think blue might be my favourite colour?!

I also received this gorgeous card from Stacey. Isn't she fab?! I love those papers. I'm definitely getting ideas for my new Miss Anya stamps. I really love the highlights in her hair!

Last, but by no means the least, I received this lovely bookatrix from my very good friend Nikola. Sorry for not zooming in on the photo, not sure what happened there! It is fab, thanks mate.
I hope to have some cards to show in the next day or two so please pop back!
Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you leave, they are greatly appreciated.

What a wonderful husband....!

Sunday 7 June 2009
Jon didn't know what to get me for my birthday tomorrow so suggested I might like some more crafting goodies. Well, of course, I couldn't turn down an offer like that so yesterday we headed off to the fabulous Glitter Pot in Haywards Heath.

We all know what a fantastic service they provide for their online store so I couldn't wait to see what the store itself was like and I wasn't disappointed! I can only describe it as an Aladdins Cave for crafters. I have neve seen so many Penny Black stamps displayed in one place! I simply could not choose which one I wanted (secretly I wanted them all!) It is truly an amazing place and if you get the chance to go then you really should.

Would you like to see what Jon treated me to.....???

Aren't I lucky girl to have such a generous husband?! I kept saying it was too much but he kept telling me to get some more goodies. As you can see, with the exception of the PB transparent sets, I only selected 2 of wooden stamps. It was just too difficult to choose as they are all so adorable. Here are some close ups for you:

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Don't forget my blog candy if you have not already entered. It's open until next Sunday so tell all your friends.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, they are greatly appreciated.
